The Next Chapter in Volunteer Scheduling: A Conversation with Krista Kutz

For more than two decades, Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP) has helped churches take the pain out of ministry scheduling. But the way ministries serve their communities is evolving — and scheduling tools should evolve too, so that organizing every kind of volunteer opportunity can be just as seamless as it is in MSP.

Volunteering happens everywhere: in outreach programs, food pantries, schools, soup kitchens, and community events. For many, signing up to volunteer is their first experience of community— where they find purpose and connection through acts of service.

In this short video, Krista Kutz, Rotunda’s Growth and Impact Manager (and a longtime MSP user) shares how the MSP community is inspiring what’s next in volunteer scheduling. Before joining Rotunda, Krista served as Director of Liturgy at Old St. Patrick's Church in Chicago, Illinois, where she used MSP to organize hundreds of volunteers across liturgical ministries. She’s also remained active in ministry at St. Teresa of Avila in Chicago and St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Louis, Missouri, continuing to help schedule volunteers with MSP.

That experience shapes the way she thinks about building on MSP’s legacy — creating new ways to make volunteering easy for everyone, from schedulers and ministry leaders to families who give their time.

“Volunteering has always been at the heart of community life,” Krista says. “It’s how we build connection and change the world together. As the needs around us grow, we’re hearing more and more people ask for the same organization and clarity MSP provides, everywhere they serve.”

Krista shares what inspired the team behind MSP to build something new — Unison — and how the same reliability and respect for volunteers that define MSP continue to guide its future.
